Internet Support: 56k Connectivity

RAIN is proud to offer 56k connectivity to our customers in Arkansas City, Chanute, Humboldt, Pittsburg, Topeka, Wichita, and Winfield.|

Our modems are using the Universal V.90 standard that all new 56k modems are using. If your modem is an X2 or K-Flex purchased prior to the adoption of the V.90 standard, you may experience incompatibility problems.

Even with V.90 modems, customers living in rural areas may see connectivity slower than 56k.

Trouble
If you have trouble, try adding two commas to the end of the phone number in the properties box of your dial-up networking connection.

Still having trouble? You may need to upgrade your modem. Contact your modem manufacturer for downloads and instructions.

Here are links to some of the more popular modem manufacturers.

Don't know what type of modem you have? For Windows 95/98, follow these steps:

From your Start Menu, select Control Panels
control

From the Control Panels list, select Modems
control2

In the Modems Control Panel, select the General tab

Please Note: Although our equipment is capable of 56k connections federal regulations limit connection speeds to 53k.
